§ A8-1. [Mandatory hookups; consumption and use regulations authorized.]

  • The board of county commissioners of Marion County may by ordinance pass reasonable rules and regulations relating to the mandating of water hookups, consumption, and use to publicly owned, investor-owned, or nonprofit association-owned water supply systems, including, but not limited to, mandating the cessation of private water well systems for domestic drinking water use, and mandatory hookup, consumption, and use within three hundred sixty-five (365) days after notification that such a water supply system is available. Such ordinance shall provide that mandatory hookups may be paid in equal annual installments of up to five (5) years as determined by the board of county commissioners.
