§ 10-32. Review of application; granting or denial of permit.

  • Prior to the issuance of any special event permit for operating any special event, the applicable county agencies and/or departments, including but not limited to, environmental health, planning/zoning, fire rescue, building safety, office of the county engineer, sheriff's office, and any other department that may have an interest in the special event shall review the application as provided for in section 10-31. The growth services director or his/her designee, shall review the comments and recommendations and shall in the interest of protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the county approve or disapprove the application. Conditions may be placed on the special event permit as reasonably necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Marion County. Appeal of any denial or approval conditions will be directed to the county administrator, or his/her designee. No property shall have more than a cumulative total of four (4) special events in any calendar year, not to exceed one per quarter. The duration of any special event shall not exceed seven (7) calendar days.
