§ 10-111. Purpose.

This article is adopted pursuant to F.S. § 125.01(1)(e) and F.S. § 401.25. The purpose of this article is to assure standardized delivery of pre-hospital health care services for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and visitors of Marion County by providing standards and regulations necessary for the issuance of certificates of public convenience and necessity (COPCN) for ALS (including air ambulance) and BLS ambulance transportation and ALS nontransport services. This article also provides for issuance of permits for nonemergent inter-facility transport. This article shall apply and be in full force in Marion County.
