§ 14-1. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases when used in this article shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Department means Marion County Parks and Recreation Department.

Park means all parks, recreation fields and areas, and improvements thereto, which are owned or leased by the county or which are under the control of the county for operation, maintenance, or upkeep.

Park ranger means the county employee in charge of any park in any geographical location within Marion County. The park ranger shall be responsible for assigned park personnel and park activities.

Parks and recreation director means the individual in charge of and who oversees all park and recreation activities in Marion County.

Parking area means any designated part of any park road or area contiguous thereto set apart for the standing or stationing of any vehicle.

Vehicle means automobile, motorcycle, van, bus or other motor vehicle.

Vessel means every description of watercraft, barge and air boat, other than a seaplane, on the water, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water, including personal watercraft, as defined in Chapter 327, Florida Statutes.
