§ 16-23. Existing franchises.

(a)

The adoption of this article shall not terminate any existing franchise. Any person holding a franchise on the effective date of this article may continue to provide collection service until their franchise expires.

(b)

All franchise holders shall comply with the requirements contained herein, after the effective date of this article.

(c)

Each franchise holder shall comply with the requirements of their franchise, including but not limited to any requirement to pay franchise fees, maintain records, or file reports, even if the franchise requires actions to be taken by the franchise holder after the expiration of the franchise or after the effective date of this chapter.
