§ 16-77. Use of proceeds.

  • The proceeds derived from the solid waste assessment shall be used solely for the following purposes:

    (1)

    To pay the costs of imposing, levying, billing, collecting and enforcing the solid waste assessment.

    (2)

    To pay any costs authorized by this article.

    (3)

    To pay the county for all or a portion of the cost to the county, including debt service, of providing, maintaining, operating, monitoring, and closing parts or portions of county solid waste management facilities which are available for the disposal of residential waste.

    (4)

    To pay the county for all or a portion of the cost to the county of providing litter control and enforcement activities.

    (5)

    To pay all or a portion of the cost of initiation and operation of recycling facilities and related recycling activities.

    (6)

    To pay for the acquisition, construction and operation of additions, extensions and improvements to the county's solid waste management facilities.
