§ 19-185. Service connection charge.

  • There shall be a charge for county service connections and for transferring of county accounts from the name of one person to the name of another, which shall be paid before the service connection is made or accounts changed; provided, however, that there shall be no service connection charge when the original service connection is made for which a meter installation and/or service installation fee is paid. The charge for the transfer of service to a new customer account at a previously served location or reconnection of service subsequent to a customer requested disconnection, shall be set forth in the water and wastewater service rate resolution.

    Reconnection charge. There shall be a charge for reconnection of service in the event that service is disconnected for failure to pay the applicable fees and charges. All fees and charges shall be paid before the service will be reconnected. The reconnection charge is applicable each time a service is disconnected and for each additional visit until service is restored. If reconnection of service is attempted during business hours, but unable to restore, an additional charge will apply if service is restored on a second attempt. For the first time only, on a second attempt, we will not charge an additional fee during business hours. After hours, for the first time only, on our second attempt, the after hour charge will be at the rate for business hours, subsequent attempts for any reconnection will be charged at the full rate for second attempts. The charge for the reconnection of service shall be set forth in the water and wastewater service rate resolution.
