§ 2-108. Established.
(a)
Pursuant to Chapter 87-40, Laws of Fla., there is hereby established the Marion County Utility Authority.
(b)
The authority shall consist of five (5) members who shall be the members of the board of county commissioners of Marion County, Florida.
(c)
The terms of the members of the authority shall be the same as the terms of the members of the board of county commissioners constituting the authority.
(d)
No member of the authority shall be employed by or be connected with or have any financial interest in, directly or indirectly, or serve as an agent or representative of, any utility providing services in Marion County. Members of the authority shall be subject to financial disclosure as required by section 12.3145, Florida Statutes. No member may be an employee of Marion County.
(e)
Members of the authority shall receive no compensation, but members shall be reimbursed for per diem and travel expenses incurred in the performance of authority duties.
(f)
Members shall be removed and replaced in the same manner provided for removal and replacement of members of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners.
