§ 2-204. Jurisdiction.

  • (a)

    The code enforcement board and special magistrates shall have the jurisdiction to hear and decide alleged violations of any county ordinance, including amendments that may be enacted.

    (b)

    The jurisdiction of the code enforcement board and special magistrates shall not be exclusive. Any alleged violation of any of the aforesaid county ordinances may be pursued by appropriate remedy in court at the option of the administrative official whose responsibility it is to enforce that respective ordinance.

    (c)

    The special magistrate shall not hear any case in which he or she has a conflict of interest through familial relationship, personal or business financial interest, or other conflict of interest recognized under the rules regulating the Florida Bar, or any case which would meet the standards of a voting conflict under F.S. § 112.3143.
