§ 2-264. Marion County Library Director.

The library director shall be the executive officer of the department. The director shall be charged with the development of a single long-range plan for all library outlets, development of a single annual plan of service, development of an annual budget, implementation of a long-range plan, annual plan of service, and prepare reports on behalf of the library. The director shall, subject to the approval of the county administrator, employ, promote, demote or dismiss library personnel within the provisions of the annual budget and the rules of the Personnel Policy of Marion County. The director shall be the professional advisor to the board of county commissioners in matters relating to library policies and functions and shall assist the board in any manner possible to better the Marion County Public Library System and its services to the citizens of Marion County.
