§ 5-16. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    dB-A means the composite abbreviation for the A-weighted sound level and the unit of sound level, the decibel.

    Designated swimming areas means those areas used for public swimming, located adjacent to parks owned by the Rainbow Lakes Estates Municipal Service District, and delineated by flotation devices.

    Rainbow Lakes means the following three (3) lakes: Tiger Lake, Bonable Lake and those portions of Little Bonable Lake lying within Marion County, being more fully described as: Tract AA of Section L, Rainbow Lakes Estates, as per Plat Book G, pages 7, 7A, 7B, 7C, public records of Marion County, Florida, and those portions of Tract BB of Section K, Rainbow Lakes Estates, as per Plat Book G, pages 6, 6A, 6B, 6C, public records of Marion County, Florida, lying within the boundaries of Marion County, Florida.

    Sound level means the A-weighted sound pressure level measured with fast response using an instrument complying with the specification for sound level meters of the American National Standards Institutes, Inc., or its successor bodies, except that only a weighting and fast dynamic response need be provided.

    Vessel is synonymous with boat as referenced in section 1(b), Article VII of the State Constitution and includes every description of watercraft, barge, and air boat, other than a seaplane on the water, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water.
