§ 9-2. Policies regarding fees.

Latest version.
  • (a)

Fees for services provided by the county public health unit (CPHU) shall be established by resolution of the board of county commissioners.

    (b)

For any service not specified in the approved fee schedule, the fee shall be determined by the State of Florida Medicaid Reimbursement Rate as referenced in the HRS Manual (HRSM) 230 series, as updated, from time to time, or the United States Department of Health and Human Services Medicare Reimbursement Rate, as updated from time to time. In the event of conflict, the rate established by Medicare shall be the rate charged and not that established by Medicaid.

    (c)

With respect to personal health services provided in the primary health care and communicable disease control levels of service, the CPHU shall abide by HRS Policy #2462, dated September 21, 1989, as same may be amended, from time to time, and shall not charge fees to any person meeting the guidelines established by such policy.

    (d)

The CPHU director may, in order to prevent or minimize an outbreak of communicable disease, waive immunization fees if, in his professional opinion, charging such fees would hinder the CPHU's efforts to protect the public health, safety, or welfare.
