§ 9-55. Conflicts.

All rights, powers and remedies provided herein may be exercised only to the extent that the exercise thereof does not violate any law and are intended to be limited to the extent necessary so that they will not render this article invalid, illegal or unenforceable under any applicable law. Nothing in this article shall be construed to conflict with state or federal laws requiring person(s) or entities causing or responsible for releases of hazardous materials from engaging in remediation activities or paying the cost thereof, or both.
